Maria Soul Magdalena Soul“I am an Italian American hip hop freestyle dance performing artist. I feel like I am a mixed race because of all of my African American influences. I will be performing a Luther vanDross piece. He was an African American male singer who died a couple of years ago.”
Naoko Naoko Okabe “I’m a Japanese woman who immigrated to the US 19 years ago. I’m still a woman and still a Japanese but very Americanized although most of Americans see me as Japanese or Asian.I will talk a bit about racial problems I had to deal with each time I entered a new group of people or an institution or a company. Having a Japanese accent is a huge minus while French accent or British accent is desired.”
Liesa Liesa Lietzke Liesa Lietzke is a sculpture MFA student at CCA. Her work addresses many strands including comfort, emptiness (in the Buddhist sense,) artificiality, consumer culture, and the construction of identity.She will be commenting on whiteness and the potentially rich/confusing aspects of entering into a conversation about race.
Sharay Sharay Davis “I’m a 20-something year old actress and student living in Berkely. I’m originally from Cleveland, OH and moved here two years ago because I felt like it.I’m going to be speaking my mind about racial identity–everything from my racist father to my white first love. You’ll either love it or hate it. Deal with it.”
Amy Amy Ratkovich “I’m at least 12 different people naturally. I’m laughing at me, laugh at you. Laugh at me laughing at you. Me laughing at you, you laughing at me.”Amy will do a comedy set for her act, but she said she wouldn’t want to give too much away.
Ada Ada Pinkston
“Ada Pinkston is a visual artist, film maker, and educator who lives in the San Francisco Bay Area. She enjoys wasting time daydreaming about what the world would be like without violence and oppression.”

Ada joined Show Some Color #2 project after attending the video taping event on October 30, 2007. She videotaped her dance and created her video after the event. She submitted her video to the project on November 6th, 2007.
