Cantocore

Cantocore is a project about cantonese culture spreading internationally and recirculating locally. The initial goal is highlight connections between Canton (Guangzhou) and San Francisco, where the largest number of Cantonese immigrants live external to Canton.

Since race, gender, and class are fundamental components of contemporary society, and with San Francisco’s diverse racial constituency, Show Some Color is a series of video projects intended to explore, through female perspectives, how American citizens in San Francisco represent and define themselves racially.
