SignalFive Interviews Jon Phillips

Jon Phillips recently sat down for an interview with Tim Jaeger of SignalFive, via Skype, to discuss his recent projects, in what Tim calls a ‘Status Check.’  The session is aimed at orienting the reader with current developments in technology and culture.

In the interview, Jon speaks of his concept of ‘Open Marketing,’ as well as his involvement with Status.net and why it’s fundamentally different than Twitter:

But Status.net, the difference between that and Twitter is that the software is open, so you can install it on your own service internally like Motorola’s done, there are some really big companies that are rolling it out that are going to be announced soon.
